Requirements
90 percent of global institutional investors consider ESG issues in some form as part of their investment approach, according to a study by asset management firm Capital Group. The increasing number of asset managers adopting Principles of Responsible Investing (PRI) is pushing portfolio and prospective companies to report on sustainability-related matters.
Regulations
A bouquet of policies and regulations have been issued by countries worldwide including the BRSR in India, CSRD in the EU, Climate acts in California, the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism and many more. These necessitate greater action and better reporting by companies.

Risks
Increasing Physical Risks from extreme weather events & climate change and Transition Risks stemming from changing regulations, higher input costs, changing consumer preferences and technologies pose a major challenge and opportunity for companies.
Rewards
As per experts, companies with higher ESG scores find it easier to raise funds at lower interest rates. On the operational front, ESG efforts could contribute to cost reductions across functions and even help avert future liabilities. These activities contribute significantly to building a corporate image which in turn reflects positively on revenues.

Disha Veera, Founder
CA, CFA, Certified Sustainability Professional
Disha founded Esgity Advisors on a simple conviction: sustainability and financial rigour aren't separate disciplines - but interdependent when applied to a wider set of risks. That belief is backed by a rare combination of credentials.
Disha is a Chartered Accountant and has cleared all three levels of the CFA Program. She holds certifications in Sustainability & BRSR from ICAI, Climate Risk, Valuations and Investing from the CFA Institute, and Environmental Law from CSE. She is also an alumna of Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics.
Before ESG became her focus, Disha spent five years cutting her teeth in Consulting and Investment Banking, starting as a trainee at KNAV Corporate Finance and eventually co-leading a ten-member team. In that time, she helped structure and close deals worth over INR 100 crores for large conglomerates, wrote business plans that raised real capital, and sat on both sides of the table in fund-raising negotiations.
It's this background, knowing how different stakeholders actually think and what makes a deal work, that shows up in how Esgity approaches ESG advisory, reporting, and investment banking: not as a compliance checkbox, but as a lever for value and access to capital.
Disha is a regular guest speaker at ICAI's ESG sessions across the central and regional chapters. She was also part of ICAI's Technical Review Committee for the Annual Sustainability Reporting Awards, reviewing ESG disclosures from some of the country's largest listed companies.
